Dual Booting is a totally different thing. Some find it easy, others difficult. I dont know how to go about doing that, but i know you need to install Mac OS X first. But that seems to be your problem.
OK, now you have got the boot cd working, follow those instructions, then when you switch to the Snow Leopard DVD, boot using -v -x and see if that lets you boot into the install proccess :)

PS. PM me so we dont take over this thread :)

So your running the boot cd as the instructions tell you too, replacing the boot cd with the hazard SNow Leopard DVD, hitting return, press f8 and then typing your boot flag (-v -x)???

Just checking thats what your doing first :)

OK, having taken some advice from Magicfox, your Q6600 is perfect for installing. The problem seems to maybe lay in your BIOS settings. Have you set your BIOS to ACHI on your SATA Drives??

i tried to install SL on my old sony vaio (not too old) just out of curiosity and to my surprise it went on smoothly.no restart problems and it installed successfully!!but the problem there is that it wont boot.it just stays and loads in the grey screen with the Apple logo forever....and if i boot using -v -x cpus=1 it shows some kernel panic and after a few seconds it freezes there....if you have any suggestion on what to do in either situation(restart problem on pc or boot problem on laptop) i would be very very gratefull!! i would be satisfied if i could install it on just one of them.

thanks again!!
