STUCK ON APPLE LOGO DURING RESTART

i have an HP dv5-1209ax entertainment notebook with the following specs:

AMD ATHLON X2 64
ATI RADEON ONBOARD VIDEO
250 GB SATA HD
2Gb RAM

INSTALLED SUCCESSFULY THE OS BUT WHEN IT REBOOTS I'M STUCK ON THE SCREEN WITH THE APPLE LOGO ON IT AND NOTHING HAPPENS FROM THERE. HELP NEEDED

I've got the exact same problem with my Acer Extensa 4220

Intel Celeron processor 560, 2.13 GHz
Mobile Intel Graphics, 252 mb
1 GB DDR2
120 GB HDD

Would really help with any form of notion to what the problem might be?

For both:
restart with -v to see where the problem is. If you cannot read through info on screen, take a photo of the screen and post it, maybe someone can help you.
Also, info about what you chose during install can help.

If you don't know what "restart with -v" means, that depends what bootloader you have.
Chameleon has "boot verbose" option, or while in a black screen while booting, in Darwin bootloader, press F8 and type -v

Try also to boot with -v -x
