Hi, i know this is an "old" thread, but i have almost the same computer.. the same mobo, a Seagate HD, and half the SAME BRAND ram.
The mobo has an "nvidia 8300" chipset, it's similar to the nForce 780a, but not the same. i have read that some people installed Mac in this mobo, but i'm still trying. Las time i used mac was a Tiger in a Pentium 4 Presscot, so i want to be up to date now i got a "good" hard.
Well, straight to the problem, i got this iso: "Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard".
Ok, now, i can't go past from the boot of the CD. It starts, and it just hangs, i enabled/disabled all the combos of options in the bios. AHCI, no AHCI, disabled the AMD Live, Cool 'n' Quiet, Strat table disabled/enabled etc.
I got it working with this iso in an VMWARE, so it's not the iso.
I've got an IDE dvd reader, i don't know if this is the problem.
I always use the verbose option, for everything (gentoo linux user), so what i've seen so far is that it boots, starts the loading, darwin ok, but then it stops in some error that i don't remember, i'm going to reboot now and note it so you can help me.
EDIT: i've read about the Empire EFI and those things. Do i need this to boot the dvd?
Some guy installed this on an 8200 which is the same but underclocked:
